I seem to remember something about FromSoft games adding the hud in some weird 3D way that messes with vorpX 3D but it’s been a long while, you could try searching the forum but iirc the fix was decreasing the size of the hud or moving it or something like that in vorpX’s menu

There are profiles in the cloud, seems to be Z3D only (?), I remember playing the demo with vorpx. I do not own the full game yet so can´t test those cloud profiles.

Regarding uevr I highly recommend learning to use it, basic usage isn´t any more complicated than vorpx and most games have profiles made by other people including Robocop.
If you only want 3D effect without motion controllers, its mostly just injecting into the game and resetting camera position and adjusting resolution.

Thank you very much for at least considering this request. I just got my quest 3 too and was looking forward to the much crispier visuals with the improved display (coming from Rift S). I guess the horizontal fov of the quest 3 is also slightly larger then rift S with the improved lenses as in previous version I remember setting image zoom sometimes to 0.93 for testing and not noticing the edgepeek much. With quest 3 its like a black void down there.

And yes the fov glitches are everywhere. Specific cases I mentioned are the most severe ones with entire levels disappearing around you. Particularly the All foods factory (maelstrom tutorial level)

You can play doing light in native VR. As far as I can recall you add OculusEnabled to the ini file. You do need good VR legs, I don’t even remember if I used Vorpx as it was years ago, but I played the native VR for about 40 hours.
Unfortunately I cannot advise on your question. I think in native I just kept my head very still for the videos.

Could not find a way to avoid the Screen resolution change and cursor dissapearing, fixed it with one WoW macro

    /script RestartGx();

Assign Macro to a hotkey and press key ingame to fix, sometimes its resets resolutions on the go just after hotkey and sometime it lasts, buts its fast so just have to remember where the key is.

It been a while since I’ve played CP2077. If I remember correctly, switching to Z-Adaptive Cinema mode from DirectVR Full VR seemed to work. I was using the stand alone CP2077 VorpX version. Turning 3D off completely in photo mode might work as well?

I experienced the same type of memory leak type crashing in photo mode using DirectVR Full VR. Photo mode would work start very laggy progressively getting more laggy and laggy until freezing.

Topic:Head tracking to mouselook in Desktop Viewer?

    in forum General vorpX Discussion

I seem to remember that Desktop Viewer translated head tracking into mouse movements while in “Full VR” mode. Is this not the case anymore? If it is, how can one turn this feature on …?

And question number two: can one mirror Desktop Viewer to the Windows desktop?

    Great thanks in advance!

    Topic:Dear Esther working quite badly

    in forum Technical Support

    Hi all,
I am not completely new to VorpX, I used it in the past with an Oculus Rift (a few years ago, so most likely quite a few versions ago), and I remember Dear Esther working particularly well, with almost perfect Direct VR, positional head tracking too.

I tried again now with a Quest 3 through Virtual Desktop (I read that it should work if I select Steam VR mode).. the game launches and it is hooked by vorpX, but it works terribly.. flickering, no positional tracking, head turning works but I can see black areas when I turn my head and the rendering that “catches up” later and gets in front of me with some delay, if you know what I mean..
I am on Windows 11 so I read Ralf’s message about performance issues with DX9 games (not sure if DE falls into this category) on Windows 11 and so I tried upgrading to vorpx 24.1.0, but nothing changed.

I tried re-scanning directVR but it seemed to have made things even worse.. what am I doing wrong? Any suggestions?

I figured this out after a lot of trial and error. I will run through everything I did hopefully it helps others facing this issue.

    1. Go into Configure vorpx – Click on Exclude Programs – Exclude EAlink.exe. For extra caution just exclude everything EA related

    2. Turn off all firewall and virus scans. I use Macfee mainly, but I also needed to turn of Windows Defender Firewall scan, just turn everything off that you can. Remember to turn them back on when you are done playing TF2

    3. Turn off all overlays. NVidia has a built-in overlay, steam has a built-in overlay, xbox has the game bar (for xbox game bar make sure to turn of the camera option), turn off every overlay that you can find

    4. Turn off all notifications in windows so you cannot receive any pop-up messages

    5. Disconnect any extra screens you have hooked to your pc

    6. Lastly, go to the games exe file AKA Titanfall2.exe. Right click on Titanfall2.exe – click “properties” – Click “Compatibility” – Check “run the program in compatibility mode for Windows 8”
Check “Disable Fullscreen optimizations” – Click “Apply”.

Thats it. Has been working great for me since I did all these steps. Step 6 was the last thing tried before it started working for me. So, working backwards from 6 to 1 may be a smart move. I turned the game off and back on a handful of times just to insure it was not a fluke. Keep in mind that if you turn TF2 off you will need to fully exit out of your vr mode as well before trying to restart, at least that was the case for me.

    @Greyhaim :
I guess you could not use DirectVR and check “Don’t Optimize game settings”.
Then you set a very high 4:3 resolution (for Quest 3 or Reverb G2) in game (use VorpX Beta and virtual monitor to enable any resolution you need).
I usually use 3840×2880 or at least 2880×2160 on my Reverb G2.
Try to set ClarityFX to full (and adjust sharpness).
    Unzoom full VR.

Then raise FOV (google “change fallout 4 fov”)

Try 120 and adjust it until you have the right scale (remember the value, it will be approximatively the same in every game).

    Adjust headtracking sensitivity.

Hello, is there any way to launch a non-steam game using Vorpx? I’ve got game pass and EGS as well, games that I launch from those stores does not appear on Pico screen, nothing is happening.
I remember when I had quest 2 there was no such issue.
I’ve tried all of the troubleshooting tutorial, didn’t work.

So I tried ESO with vorpx latest beta in 2024 and it works pretty well. You absolutely must not touch any of the settings related to zoom, aspect or such. Doing so causes the whole screen to move while turning your head so leave that all at default.

For me, moving my head back and forth left and right caught a little bit of stutter in the camera. Changing the headset sensitivity to “latency” (I cant remember if it was on auto or fps) really smoothed this out.

Also, I have a 4090 / 7800x3d but performance wasn’t as smooth as I’d like. You cant use DLSS here or you get some one-eye problems. But you can turn on FSR. I turned on FSR to ultra quality and performance is like butter now!

Too bad we can’t memory scan this one. I assume it’s due to some sort of anti-cheat check?

Something like that. I don’t remember the specifics, but Microsoft announced that they’re removing WMR from Windows. People said that if you don’t update Win10 and don’t upgrade to Win11, you should be able to still use it.

I’m very glad i sold my G2 last year. I knew that it’s EOL when i bought it, but the rumour (?) was that it will be supported by HP and MS until 2026. Oh well…

Tracking issues are indeed related to OpenXR.

With SteamVR option in “Device Selection” I don’t have tracking issues.

I think the first time I used Varjo Aero I used OpenXR and I don’t remember having these issues (but maybe I didn’t pay attention in Full VR).

Just a quick info: I “solved” my issues now by adding the SBS-game to the vorpx exclude list. This way no hooking occurs and I don’t have to remember to pause the watcher. Then I stopped using the virtual monitor as my desktop monitor happens to have the resolution I want in the headset. So no more changing of the monitor settings.
Still I would like to have profiles for virtual desktop games as outlined before. But I see now that I made a mistake by believing that my use case is what virtual desktop and monitor was made for. Anyway good that it is possible in some way.
