What is a tutorial video

A tutorial or instructional video is a recording that provides viewers with a clear and precise step-by-step manual on the chosen subject. In bygone times, to make video tutorials for some applications, one needed to purchase professional equipment and install costly software. Nowadays, even a total newbie can record their screen and create a step-by-step tutorial in several clicks and without any additional effort and expenses.

Clideo’s all-in-one video editor is just the right choice for such a task. Not only is it a tutorial video maker, but also an ultimate tool for editing ready recordings, combining various visual and audio assets, including inbuilt stock libraries.

The service is intuitively comprehensive and user-friendly, but it’s constantly evolving and new features are being added. Here is a detailed instruction on how to make a video on your computer or a mobile device.

  1. Get ready

    At this stage, put down at least a rough outline of your future recording. Watch some instructional video examples on the internet to get inspired and grasp the overall idea.

    If you’re going to voice your instruction, write the exact lines. Later, you’ll be able to use them for a voice-over or TTS (text-to-speech).

    • Click the "TTS" button and generate from the text (you can use the script you have prepared previously);

  4. Edit the project

    Now that all the main assets are ready, it's time for the final touches.

    Open the "Canvas" tab and set the project’s aspect ratio, 16:9 is excellent for YouTube and 9:16 for TikTok or Instagram reel. Then cut out the moments you do not like using the "Split" option at the top left of the timeline and add more assets — images, GIFs, stickers, arrows, shapes — and arrange them in the timeline.
