They forget the actual cause of suffering a diseased life like hypertension, thyroid, diabetes, obesity, and so on. According to society, unhealthy lifestyles, alcohol consumption, drug intake, smoking, etc., are examples of modern lifestyles. Adapting a modern lifestyle is very necessary nowadays, but at the same time, people should maintain a healthy lifestyle instead of ruining their health in modernity.

Some unhealthy habits make us have trouble living a disease-free life. Here are a few examples:

Smoking Habit: The impact of smoking on our body has been explored for decades; also, several studies and research have been showing the bad impact of smoking. All the universal sites primarily focus on coronary heart disease, bronchitis, lung cancer, and cardiovascular conditions getting worse due to smoking habits. In some countries, smoking is considered to be a part of the modern lifestyle, so it is rising more than usual.

Physical Activity or Exercise: In order to grease the body and preserve oneself from the harmful environment, it is necessary to do regular exercise. There have been many studies that physical activity can reduce the risk of cardiac arrest, but it should be done under proper guidance. At present, cycling and a moderate level of walking are valuable to sustain a healthy life.

Dietary Habits: Diet has a direct impact on physical and mental health, but people's eating behavior has changed from before. Earlier, we took a diet that included a lot of nutrition, green leafy vegetables, and fruits. But as the lifestyle changes, in the competitive world, we are much more dependent on fast food rather than a cooking meal. So people are prone to a low-nutrition diet which is responsible for diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity. BMI (body mass index) can be used to measure unhealthy lifestyles.

Prone to Drug Abuse: Addiction to any bad habits like smoking, drinking alcohol, and other carcinogenic substances lead to an unhealthy lifestyle. Nowadays, teenagers are very prone to drug intake as, according to them, it makes them look cool in society.

Technology Addiction: Technology plays an important role in our modern society as it has certain advantages which make things better, like the ease of traveling and fast communication. The internet is also a basic requirement in our day-to-day life and makes our work easy and synchronized, but problems arise when it becomes an addiction. Let us know how technology becomes an addiction:

  • Disturbed Sleep Cycle: Disturbed sleep cycle generally occurs when we are very much dependent on our gadgets and technology addiction which results in delayed sleeping.

  • Excessive Use of Cell Phones: Smartphones have negative and positive sides. Excess of everything is bad. It has been seen that overuse of a smartphone can lead to blurred vision and low concentration.

  • Technology Misuse: Overuse of technology can deprive growth in children.

Medication Abuse: Various issues due to adaptation to modern lifestyle, like an overdose of medicine, taking without prescription, intake of antidepressants, and sleeping pills, all negatively affect humans.

Sexual Behavior: Physical relation is a healthy part of life, but nowadays, people are taking it in the wrong way, like making relationships at a very early age and intake of contraceptives, which leads to body dysfunction and it is directly related to our mental and physical health.

Studying or Learning: It is also somewhat related to mental and physical health. Studies show that dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are found less in people who study more.

Nowadays, people are accepting a sedentary lifestyle, which facilitates them to do less movement and operate everything from home by sitting on their couch.

Smoking also causes problems to the lungs and cardiovascular disease because it contains harmful particles that directly infect our respiratory system.

  • Text Neck: Excessive use of phone and tablets for a long time leads to pain in the neck, head, and stress injury.

  • Hearing Loss: In the modern lifestyle, listening to music at a high volume is very common, which can lead to hearing loss.

  • Obesity: In the modern lifestyle, people consume fat-rich food, which leads to obesity.

  • Computer Vision Syndrome: Continuous usage of computers while taking online classes, doing jobs, playing games, or watching movies can lead to CVS (cardiovascular diseases).

  • Heart Disease: Eating junk food, smoking, and alcohol consumption lead to increased levels of cholesterol.
