The NY Times story on NYC’s West Village drugstore C.O. Bigelow’s, praises the establishment and the long time owners, the Ginsbergs. I can personnally attest to the story’s truthfulness. The morning of September 11, 2001, I still remember running from the Towers after the second plane hit. In my haste, everything was left at my cubicle, including my trusty backpack, which held not only some books for my commute back and forth from Long Island, but also my keys, and most importantly, medications I was required to take every few hours.Throughout the day, my level of distress and unease kept growing. I knew that if I didn’t take the medication soon, I’d start feeling ill. As I walked uptown, I stopped and knocked on every CVS and DuaneReade drug store door. All closed. Finally, I stopped at C.O. Bigelow’s, and met Ian Ginsberg behind the pharmacy counter. After telling him my situation, he helped me when no one else would. He figured out a way to fill a prescription on a day which most retailers rushed home and locked their shops. To this day, I can’t tell you how much that meant.

Ben,Thank you so much for that extremely kind and touching note. While my memory of that day can't match yours, I do remember it pretty vividly. Your story was sadly a common one that day and the days following and it was the least we could do to try and do our part to help whoever we could in whatever way we could. While we do many things and play many roles we are pharmacists at the core (4 generations) and it's the part that gives the most joy and the part that we are most proud of.

Completely agree. Usually when I see an offering at an unrealistic price, it’s time to go “pencils down” until it comes out with new pricing… or a new broker!!

Today marks the end of a four-year chapter at MAXX Properties - an incredible time when the company evolved from a family-run business to a "race-ready" organization ready to partner with outside capital.I'm grateful and enormously fortunate to have worked besides an incredibly talented group of multi-family experts like Andrew Wiener, David Wiener, Rick Wiener, Robert Wiener, Gerald Haak, John Colardi, Jeremy Eichel and Amy Warycha, plus many, many more.Along the way, we've sold some properties, and added some new ones to the mix. More importantly, I've forged meaningful relationships with countless partners, both inside and outside of the company.Thank you to all of you who helped make this a gratifying and memorable period in my career and in my life. I'm thrilled for the next chapter... onward and upward! More news to come!
